MEET P-SUKE
P-Suke Name: P-Suke
1979 - 2006

P-Suke (PEACE-kay) was the only bonobo living in Japan before he became a part of the social group at the Language Research Center at Georgia State University. Born in the Congo in 1979, P-Suke was the father of Elikya, Nathan, Nyota and Maisha. A tolerant and kind father, P-Suke spent hours overseeing the younger bonobos when their mothers napped. Over the years, he established himself as a leader whose primary concern was the welfare of the group.

Unfortunately, P-Suke died in July 2006 while under anesthesia in preparation for surgery.  A necropsy indicated cardiac fibrosis contributed to his death.
